Early MS Symptoms.
The first and foremost important thing is to study and understand the few common signs associated with the early onset of MS. However it is important to note and keep in mind that no two patients of MS experience the same set of MS symptoms or level of severity. It is also not predictable as to how a patient’s condition is going to progress.
Early symptoms of MS: The most common symptoms of MS at the early onset include:
- Fatigue :-This one is the most common and the most uncomfortable of all the MS symptoms. Indications of fatigue may be getting exhausted at the slightest of physical activity, feeling tired even after getting rest, etc.
- Vision problems: Most commonly, one of the first symptoms of MS that patients experience is double vision. Also termed as “optic neuritis”, it is found to be an important examination for the diagnosis of MS by neurologists.
- Improper Gait/ Walking Problems: Improper Gait can be explained as lack of coordination and proper control over the body. This can be observed during walking.
- Numbness or strange sensory issues: A strange kind of tingling sensation is often experienced along with temporary or permanent numbness of a body part like arms or legs. This could be associated with a feeling of itching, tingling, etc.
-Sensitivity to heat: In a situation where the body temperature is increased, it makes the patient quite uncomfortable, fatigued and dizzy.
Course of action at the early onset: The signs written above have been discussed with an intention to alert anyone probable of diagnosis and not intended to create any panic. Any such anxiety or nervousness would only trigger ill effects. There are surely ways out at this stage. At the probability of one or more of any such warning signs, seeking professional medical help should never be delayed. There are many ways and means to delay the triggering of MS symptoms. Observing early signs gives you time to act upon such means of delaying these symptoms of MS. One of such means is physical activity and exercise. Physical activity at such a time seems to be the most challenging thing. But it is one of the most important things you could turn to at this stage considering that drugs and medications on a regular basis won’t be advisable.
Just a thought: Everyone has a list of things that they would have done some other way if life would offer another chance to live the same life. One of the things that I have listed, that I would do if life would have given me a second chance, is that I would take the early signs of my MS seriously and my first resort would be continuous and regular physical activity and exercise. That’s just hypothetical, I agree!
It is also important educate oneself about the further prognosis of MS. In my further posts, we will see the common symptoms of MS at its beginning stages as well as those during the later stages.
